Magic Duck and the Talking Kitten

About

One early morning, Juno found two cages at his door—one with a duck, the other with a kitten. To his surprise, the duck started talking! The duck explained he could talk because he ate people’s food, which was full of magic. Then, the kitten spoke too, saying Juno could only choose one. Juno liked the kitten and picked its cage. The duck looked sad, but then Juno’s kind neighbor came by and happily chose the duck. In the end, everyone found a happy home!

Praise for this book

Kids experience stories differently than adults do.
My daughter enjoyed the book, and it definitely suited its young audience well. As an adult reading along, I found myself wishing for a little more depth, but I realize it’s designed to be simple and fun for kids — and in that, it does a great job!

We're Christians, so I usually try to avoid books that mention magic. Then I realized I might be a bit of a hypocrite since I let my kids watch My Little Pony, Elsa, and other Disney cartoons. So, we gave it a read—and it was cute!

Quick read and everyone is happy in the end.

Fun read for kids!

This is a sweet book, and I think it’s best enjoyed when parents really bring it to life by reading it in an animated, expressive way. I love supporting new writers.
